Forget Me Nots is a group art show at BUNKER. BUNKER is an ongoing project in a modestly sized loft in the Bushwick part of Brooklyn. The Forget me Nots show has a theme of the dichotomy between love and hate referencing Friday the 13th and Valentine's Day and the little reminders associated with these days from scars to love notes. There is a diverse and extremely talented group of 22 artists in the show. It is being guest curated by the amazing Jessica Cervenka. The reception is Friday February 13th from 6PM to 11PM, with viewing times available by appointment for two weeks following the opening reception. Guest Curator Jessica Cervenka-
For the imminent show in February, we are having a guest curator come in to help organize the exhibition. Jessica Cervenka is an up and coming curator/historian based in New York City. A native Queensite and Long Island gal, Jessica has become entrenched in the subcultures that New York has to offer. She has recently worked at Christie’s for the Post-War and Contemporary Art Department, specializing in research and writing. She is also currently linked with Jonathan LeVine Gallery in Chelsea where she works part-time. Her interests run wide in both the arts and music, however, she has made it her goal to focus her career on local and emerging art, as well as genres such as low brow, street and graffiti art and lifestyle brands. A prominent supporter of local hip-hop artists and the scene, you will find Jessica at many shows in the Downtown area. Jessica’s education includes receiving a BA from Purchase College in Art History and Arts Management and a MA from Christie’s Education in History of Art and the Art Market.
